In the planning of WCTE 2023, the organisers want to keep up the emphasis on research and exploration within wood mechanics and timber structures.

We will also focus on sustainability and the role of wood as an attractive and environmentally friendly material for consideration by any actor in the building sector, from the perspective of the user to professionals like architects, engineers, producers and construction companies.

Recycling, re-use and optimal utilization of materials are coming important topics and will be properly discussed.

Call for Abstracts is Open

The Call for Abstracts for the WCTE 2023 conference is open. The deadline for submission is 1st of March 2022. Full paper should be finished by 10th of January 2023.

Conference venue: The Hub

WCTE 2023 will be a nice and compact event where we all are gathered on the same hotel in the middle of the city center. Clarion Hotel the Hub is Oslo's leading business hotel and a natural choice for all kinds of congresses, conferences, meetings, concerts and cultural events. The Lund+Slaatto Arkitekter architectural firm is responsible for the design of the hotel, and Anemone Wille Våge has created the interiors in the restaurants and public spaces. Björkén Architects has designed the hotel rooms and conference spaces, focusing on warmth, intimacy, elegance and life.

Within reasonable short distance from Oslo city center we will offer technical tours to sites.

Social Programme

As part of WCTE 2023, both indoor and outdoor social events will be arranged. Including Icebreak, Reception, City Tours and Accompanying Program.
