WCTE 2023-logo Installation

The WCTE logo is a 3-dimensional piece of wood, which by twisting one and the same piece becomes all four letters W - C - T - E. As a visual contribution to the city of Oslo, the WCTE 2023 logo is placed as an installation, in the middle of the water mirror at Anne Cath. Vestlys Plass, in front of Deichman Bjørvika, Oslo's main library.

The context
Although WCTE is a scientific conference, the WCTE 2023 organization emphasized from the start that the conference should also contribute to visibility and spin-offs for Norwegian and international businesses where wood is used as a building material.

Norwegian engineering and Norwegian timber architecture is world-renowned for excellent design and form. It was therefore natural that the graphic profile for the conference profile should also showcase design excellence. The choice for a graphic designer fell on Uniform, which has designed the three-dimensional WCTE 2023 logo and the rest of the design program for WCTE 2023.

The logo is a 3-dimensional piece of wood.  When rotated, the same piece becomes all four letters W – C – T – E.

As a visual contribution to the city of Oslo, the WCTE 2023 logo is placed as an installation in the middle of the water mirror at Anne Cath. Vestlys Plass, in front of Deichman Bjørvika, Oslo’s main library.

The WCTE2023 logo installation has become a fine display of both Norwegian graphic design and collaboration between Norwegian companies who work creatively with wooden building materials. The installation is composed of both new glulam elements and reused materials.
